About Us

Koom Koom Theater emerged in 2002 from the School of Visual Theater in Jerusalem as a collaborative initiative by puppeteers, clowns, and musicians. Today, operating from its venue in the heart of the Talpiot Industrial Zone, the theater functions as an independent, bilingual cultural center, engaging diverse audiences and offering an artistic and cultural bridge that transcends boundaries of language, community, and age.

The theater’s artistic work is rooted in an evolving interdisciplinary genre that integrates puppet and object theater, physical clowning, visual arts, and live sound.

Koom Koom Theater’s creations aim to make complex philosophical themes and global issues accessible to audiences—ranging from human-environment relations to human communication in the digital age.

In recent years, the theater has pioneered the development of interactive play-and-creation spaces. Recognizing the growing need for direct physical, sensory, and playful experiences, these spaces invite the public to linger at the venue, explore, and create together.

Koom Koom Theater maintains ongoing artistic research and the development of new stage practices, consolidating its status as a pioneer in its field and a center of creation and innovation on both the local and international stages.
